Project Spotlight: From Wishlist to Reality

Denny and Kate were in the market for a home. They had a location in mind where they wanted to live, but had trouble finding a house with the “must-haves” that they needed. After making the decision that they needed to custom build a home to get the house they wanted, they headed to the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County’s annual Spring Home Show. They talked with several different builders and found they felt the most comfortable and at ease with the family feel at the Metzler Home Builders booth. “They immediately took us seriously, asked us questions, and showed us examples of their work,” says Kate. “They even followed up the next week with a phone call to see if we wanted to get together and continue the conversation.”
The couple then met with Jordan to design their new home, making sure it included all those “must-haves” they desired. The result is a stunning one-story home, boasting 2,470 square feet of finished space on the main floor. It includes 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, a 340 square foot room over the garage for storage, a game room or additional bedroom, and a spacious basement. The striking exterior features CertainTeed flagstone siding with white trim and walnut stained garage doors. The front and rear gables show off decorative brackets and columns. The lovely stamped concrete patio has a roof overhead, keeping out the elements and making the space more functional.
Denny and Kate are delighted with their new home. They especially love all the custom woodwork handcrafted by Skip Butler. “He used pictures we gave him and produced spot-on replicas of everything from the built-ins and fireplace surround to the outside beams. Everything is exactly as we had hoped and there’s nothing we would have changed or done differently,” says Kate.
“We highly recommend Metzler Home Builders,” said Denny and Kate. “Many friends and even strangers have asked us who built our home, and we are proud to tell them it was Metzler Home Builders. It was a pleasure to work with Jordan, Barry, Skip and Janet throughout the process. The build stayed true to schedule even while constructing throughout the winter months. Jordan was extremely helpful and understanding when we needed to make changes and worked with us to make sure we got the home we wanted. Thank you, Metzler family, for helping us build our forever home!”
